Hello Everyone!

Spring is in full swing here at Wegner Crystal Mines. This means Spring Break for many families! We have already had lots of families visit, and we look forward to seeing many more in the next few weeks. If you are planning a visit to Wegner Crystal Mines, please make sure you dress for Arkansas Spring weather. The early mornings can be a little chilly, so you may need a jacket. But the temps rise quickly before lunch and into the afternoon, so dress in layers. You may also want to bring a hat and sunscreen. We also encourage you to stay hydrated and bring plenty of water with you. Digging for crystals is exercise, and you will definitely get thirsty! Arkansas weather has a mind of its own, and because of this, it is better to be over prepared than under prepared!

We have been mining the Phantom Mine over the past couple of months for the first time in a very long time. That means we have gorgeous Phantom crystals that you can purchase in our warehouse. But it also means that the Phantom Mine has been turned over, and the crystals that our customers are finding there are spectacular!  We have already run several trips to the Phantom Mine this season, and we have several more planned. If you are interested in a Phantom Mine trip, please fill out our on-line request form or give Linda a call at (870) 867-2309. You do have to make a reservation and pay a deposit to go to the Phantom Mine. So get your calls or forms in early.

We have been busy doing Spring activities here at Wegner Crystal Mines. One of the big projects that we do each Spring is plant our organic vegetable garden so that we have plenty of vegetables to donate to the local food banks. We have planted several different veggies including potatoes, onions, garlic, and spinach. The strawberries and asparagus are beginning to bloom, and soon we will plant cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower! Yum!! We encourage our customers to plant their own gardens and donate any extra vegetables to  your local food banks or even your neighbors who can’t plant a garden. Eating fresh veggies out of the garden makes you feel so good!

In closing, we want to thank all of you for coming to see us! We value each and every one of you, and our staff is excited to see you and your family this spring. Please be careful traveling to and from Arkansas. Happy Spring Break, y’all!!

We did the Phantom Mine. It was 4 hours of digging. We found a variety of crystal qualities, small clusters, and each left with about a gallon bag full of them, even while being picky about what I’d keep. It is worth it.
